Read our full Dermal Fillers treatment guideWhat are dermal fillers?
Dermal fillers are injectable treatments based on hyaluronic acid — a substance naturally present in the skin. They are used to restore lost volume, enhance facial contours and soften lines and folds. At Berkshire Aesthetics, we use a conservative approach with staged dosing, allowing results to settle before adding further product. This reduces the risk of over-treatment and produces consistently natural outcomes.

- Those with deepening nasolabial folds (nose-to-mouth lines)
- Individuals looking for jawline definition or chin projection
- Patients with under-eye hollows (tear troughs) causing a tired appearance

What to expect
Consultation
A detailed face-to-face assessment with Dr Langdon. She will review your medical history, discuss your goals and create a personalised treatment plan with staged dosing.
Treatment
Filler is placed precisely using fine needles or cannulae. The procedure usually takes 30–45 minutes depending on the areas being treated. Results are visible immediately.
Aftercare
Written aftercare instructions are provided. Mild swelling is normal for 2–5 days. A review appointment is offered to assess your results and plan any further stages.
Risks & considerations
Dermal fillers are generally well-tolerated, but all injectable treatments carry some risk. These are discussed in full during your consultation.
- Temporary swelling, tenderness or bruising at injection sites (usually resolves within a few days)
- Rare: vascular occlusion — we have hyaluronidase on site for immediate reversal
- Ultrasound is available for assessment of high-risk treatment zones
- Temporary lumps or asymmetry, which can be addressed at your review appointment
Pricing
Dermal filler prices start from £250. The total cost depends on the areas treated, the volume of product required and the number of stages in your treatment plan. This is discussed during your consultation.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long do dermal filler results last?
Results typically last between 6 and 18 months depending on the area treated, the type of filler used and individual factors such as metabolism. Lip fillers tend to be at the shorter end of this range.
Can dermal fillers be dissolved?
Yes. Hyaluronic acid fillers can be dissolved using an enzyme called hyaluronidase. We maintain full reversal capability on site at all times, which is an important safety consideration.
What areas can be treated with dermal fillers?
Common treatment areas include lips, cheeks, nasolabial folds (nose-to-mouth lines), jawline, chin, under-eye hollows (tear troughs) and marionette lines. Dr Langdon will advise which areas would address your specific concerns.
Is the treatment painful?
Most modern dermal fillers contain lidocaine (a local anaesthetic) which provides comfort during the procedure. Topical numbing cream can also be applied before treatment. Most patients tolerate the procedure well.
How do you ensure safety with dermal fillers?
All filler treatments are carried out by Dr Langdon in our CQC-registered clinic. We use a staged dosing approach, have ultrasound available for high-risk zones, and maintain hyaluronidase on site for immediate reversal if needed.
Who should not have dermal fillers?
Fillers are not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, for patients with active skin infections at the treatment site, or those with known allergies to hyaluronic acid products. A full medical history is taken during your consultation.
Why we start with a consultation
Every treatment begins with a medical assessment. We need to understand your medical history, current health, skin condition and concerns before prescribing any procedure. This protects your safety and ensures the treatment is clinically appropriate for you.
During your consultation, Dr Langdon will explain what the treatment can realistically achieve, any risks specific to you, and whether an alternative might be more appropriate.
