Why Berkshire Aesthetics
We believe medical aesthetics should be led by doctors, guided by clinical evidence, and delivered with honesty. Our approach prioritises your safety and suitability over selling procedures.

Every treatment is clinically overseen by Dr Selena Langdon (MBBS). We do not delegate clinical decision-making to non-medical staff.
Regulated & Transparent
We are CQC registered and follow all relevant UK regulations for medical aesthetics. Our governance approach is open and documented.
Consultation First
No treatment is performed without a proper consultation. If a treatment is not right for you, we will say so — and suggest alternatives where appropriate.

Facials — FAQs
Facials: Complete Guide
What is a facial?
A facial is a structured, multi-step treatment designed to deeply cleanse, exfoliate and nourish the skin. At our doctor-led, CQC-regulated clinic, we tailor every protocol to your skin type, concerns and goals, using medical-grade products and evidence-based steps.
- Skin assessment and treatment planning
- Thorough cleanse and controlled exfoliation
- Optional extractions and targeted serums
- Mask, hydration layering and SPF
Who benefits — and who should avoid?
Great for: dullness, dehydration, congestion/blackheads, uneven tone/texture, early fine lines, mild laxity, seasonal skin resets.
We adapt for: sensitive or rosacea-prone skin, pregnancy/breastfeeding (we avoid retinoids), active acne flares (barrier-first approach).
Usually avoid/defer: open wounds, active infections, recent sunburn, recent ablative procedures unless cleared by a clinician.
Top concerns facials can address
What to expect: before, during & after
| Stage | What we advise |
|---|---|
| Before | Avoid harsh exfoliants/retinoids 3–5 days prior; disclose medications/allergies; arrive with clean skin. |
| During | Comfortable treatment; mild tingling possible with peels; intensity adjusted to your tolerance. |
| After | Hydrate, SPF 30+ daily; avoid sauna/sun/strong actives for 48–72 hours post-peel; follow your tailored homecare. |
