Cellulite Treatments
Medical assessment and non-invasive management of gynoid lipodystrophy
Cellulite (gynoid lipodystrophy) is a multifactorial structural skin condition affecting subcutaneous adipose tissue architecture, predominantly in women. At Berkshire Aesthetics, we provide clinically assessed, non-invasive body contouring treatments to address the underlying structural changes and improve tissue quality.
Aetiology & Contributing Factors
- Structural differences in connective tissue bands beneath the skin
- Hormonal influences, particularly oestrogen
- Genetic predisposition to cellulite distribution
- Reduced skin elasticity and collagen with ageing
- Lifestyle factors including diet, exercise and hydration
- Changes in body composition and fat distribution
Clinical Presentation
- Dimpled or uneven skin texture, often described as an 'orange peel' appearance
- Most commonly seen on the thighs, buttocks, hips and abdomen
- May become more noticeable when the skin is pinched or compressed
- Can affect individuals of all body shapes and fitness levels
Evidence-Based Treatment Modalities
Treatment selection is individualised following clinical assessment, taking into account disease severity, Fitzpatrick skin type, medical history and patient goals.
Morpheus8
Morpheus8 body uses radiofrequency microneedling to deliver energy into the deeper layers of skin, stimulating collagen remodelling and tightening the connective tissue that contributes to cellulite. A course of treatments is typically recommended.
Emtone
Emtone combines radiofrequency and targeted pressure energy simultaneously to address the underlying causes of cellulite — including enlarged fat chambers, damaged collagen fibres, loss of skin elasticity and poor blood flow. Treatments are comfortable and require no downtime.
Why we start with a consultation
Every treatment begins with a medical assessment. We need to understand your medical history, current health, skin condition and concerns before prescribing any procedure. This protects your safety and ensures the treatment is clinically appropriate for you.
During your consultation, Dr Langdon will explain what the treatment can realistically achieve, any risks specific to you, and whether an alternative might be more appropriate.
All bookings are subject to our Booking Conditions.
