Why we start with a consultation

Every treatment begins with a medical assessment. We need to understand your medical history, current health, skin condition and concerns before prescribing any procedure. This protects your safety and ensures the treatment is clinically appropriate for you.

During your consultation, Dr Langdon will explain what the treatment can realistically achieve, any risks specific to you, and whether an alternative might be more appropriate.

Clinical overview

Profhilo Structura represents an evolution of the Profhilo range, specifically designed to address facial volume and contour changes associated with ageing. Rather than simply hydrating or adding volume, Structura targets the superficial adipose (fat) layer to remodel, lift and contour the mid-face and jawline. The treatment uses NAHYCO technology — a stabilised hyaluronic acid complex created without chemical cross-linkers. This unique formulation activates receptors on ageing adipose fat cells, promoting fat cell rejuvenation and tissue remodelling in the treated area. It is injected at specific points in the upper cheek and preauricular (in front of the ear) area. We use Profhilo Structura selectively for patients with early to moderate facial volume changes, loss of contour definition, or sagging in the mid-face area who want a non-surgical lifting and contouring effect. Suitability is confirmed during consultation, where we assess your facial anatomy, skin quality, medical history and whether Structura (or an alternative) is the most appropriate choice.

Key Benefits

  • Targets superficial fat layers to lift, contour and rejuvenate the facial profile
  • Uses NAHYCO technology with no chemical cross-linkers
  • Activates ageing adipose fat cell receptors for tissue remodelling
  • Non-surgical approach to mid-face lifting and contouring
  • Minimal downtime for most patients

Suitable For

  • Early to moderate loss of facial contour or definition in the mid-face area
  • Mild sagging or descent of the cheek and jawline
  • Patients who want a non-surgical lifting and contouring effect
  • Those seeking rejuvenation of the facial profile without traditional volumising fillers
  • Patients comfortable with a two-session protocol for optimal results

Not Suitable For

  • Significant facial volume loss requiring substantial structural support (dermal fillers may be more appropriate)
  • Advanced skin laxity where a surgical approach would deliver more meaningful results
  • Active infection or inflammation in the treatment area (treatment should be delayed)
  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding
  • Known hypersensitivity to hyaluronic acid

Final suitability is confirmed during a medical consultation and assessment.

When we don't recommend it

  • If significant volume replacement is needed — Structura remodels and lifts but does not replace large volumes of lost fat or bone support. We may recommend dermal fillers or a combination approach.
  • If skin laxity is too advanced — the degree of lift achievable with Structura has limits, and we will explain realistic expectations or recommend alternatives.
  • If there is active infection or inflammation in the treatment area — we will delay treatment until your skin is settled and safe to treat.
  • If expectations are for a surgical-level facelift result — we will reset expectations and discuss what non-surgical options can realistically achieve.
  • If another treatment or combination plan would deliver a safer or more effective result for your specific facial anatomy and goals.

What Happens During Treatment

  1. 1Clinical consultation and suitability assessment, including facial anatomy evaluation and medical history
  2. 2Discussion of expected outcomes, limitations, risks and alternatives (including when we may recommend something else)
  3. 3Treatment planning and consent, with aftercare guidance tailored to your anatomy and lifestyle
  4. 4Profhilo Structura is injected at specific points in the upper cheek and preauricular area using the established protocol
  5. 5Post-treatment checks and clear instructions on what is normal, and when to contact us

Downtime & Aftercare

  • Small injection-point bumps are common and usually settle within 24–48 hours
  • Mild redness, tenderness or swelling can occur; bruising is possible
  • Avoid heavy exercise, saunas/steam rooms and alcohol for 24 hours
  • Avoid touching or massaging the treated area on the day of treatment unless instructed
  • If you have unexpected or worsening symptoms, contact the clinic for advice

Results Timeline

  • The protocol involves 2 sessions, spaced approximately 1 month apart.
  • Improvement develops gradually over the weeks following each session as tissue remodelling occurs.
  • We review outcomes and discuss whether maintenance or complementary treatments would support your goals.

How Long Results May Last

  • Duration varies by patient, baseline facial anatomy and lifestyle factors.

Frequently Asked Questions

Standard Profhilo focuses on skin quality — hydration, elasticity and firmness. Structura targets the superficial fat layer to lift, contour and rejuvenate the facial profile. They address different concerns and can sometimes be used together as part of a broader treatment plan.
No. Structura does not add volume in the way traditional fillers do. It works by remodelling the superficial fat layer using NAHYCO technology to lift and contour. If significant volume replacement is needed, we may recommend fillers instead or as a complement.
Structura is injected at specific points in the upper cheek and preauricular (in front of the ear) area, following an established injection protocol designed to target the superficial fat layer.
The standard protocol is 2 sessions, spaced approximately 1 month apart. Your clinician will confirm whether this protocol is appropriate for your anatomy and goals.
Downtime is minimal. Small injection-point bumps may be visible for 24–48 hours, and mild swelling or bruising can occur. Most patients return to normal activities the same day.
NAHYCO refers to a stabilised hyaluronic acid complex produced without chemical cross-linkers. This technology allows the product to interact with tissue in a unique way, activating receptors on ageing fat cells to promote remodelling and rejuvenation.
Yes. Structura can be combined with standard Profhilo, dermal fillers or other treatments where clinically appropriate. We recommend combinations only when they improve outcomes for your specific concerns.
We provide transparent pricing at consultation, tailored to your treatment plan. Costs are based on the two-session protocol and your individual assessment. Your clinician will discuss this at consultation.
Most patients find the treatment comfortable. The injections are placed using fine needles at specific points. Any discomfort is brief and the procedure is typically well tolerated.
We assess your facial anatomy, skin quality and degree of volume change. We discuss whether Structura is appropriate or whether an alternative approach would better address your concerns.
Yes. Most patients return to normal activities the same day. Small injection-point bumps may be visible for 24–48 hours but are generally subtle and settle quickly.
