Why we start with a consultation

Every treatment begins with a medical assessment. We need to understand your medical history, current health, skin condition and concerns before prescribing any procedure. This protects your safety and ensures the treatment is clinically appropriate for you.

During your consultation, Dr Langdon will explain what the treatment can realistically achieve, any risks specific to you, and whether an alternative might be more appropriate.

Doctor-led approach

Clinical overview

The Core to Floor programme combines two complementary BTL technologies in a structured treatment plan. EMSculpt Neo uses high-intensity focused electromagnetic (HIFEM) energy combined with radiofrequency to build core muscle and reduce fat in the abdominal area. EMSella uses focused electromagnetic technology to stimulate deep pelvic floor muscle contractions — equivalent to thousands of Kegel exercises per session. This combined approach is designed for patients who recognise the connection between core strength and pelvic floor health. Weakened core and pelvic floor muscles can contribute to issues such as stress urinary incontinence, reduced core stability and postural concerns. We use the Core to Floor programme selectively for patients who would benefit from both technologies. Suitability is confirmed during consultation, where we assess your concerns, medical history, fitness level and whether this combined programme (or individual treatments) is the most appropriate approach for your goals.

Key Benefits

  • Combines core muscle building (EMSculpt Neo) and pelvic floor strengthening (EMSella) in one programme
  • Non-invasive with no downtime — resume normal activities immediately
  • Addresses the connection between core stability and pelvic floor health
  • Can help with stress urinary incontinence and core weakness
  • No anaesthesia, no needles, no recovery period

Suitable For

  • Patients who want to strengthen both their core muscles and pelvic floor
  • Postnatal women (once cleared by their GP) seeking core and pelvic floor rehabilitation
  • Those experiencing mild to moderate stress urinary incontinence alongside core weakness
  • Patients looking for a non-surgical, no-downtime approach to body strengthening
  • Those who want to complement their fitness routine with targeted muscle stimulation

Not Suitable For

  • Patients with implanted electronic devices (e.g. pacemakers or defibrillators)
  • Metal implants in the treatment area (assessed during consultation)
  • Pregnancy
  • Patients seeking significant fat reduction as the primary goal (other treatments may be more appropriate)
  • Certain medical conditions affecting muscle or nerve function (discussed during consultation)

Final suitability is confirmed during a medical consultation and assessment.

When we don't recommend it

  • If you have implanted electronic devices such as a pacemaker or defibrillator — the electromagnetic technology used in both treatments is not compatible with these devices.
  • If significant fat reduction is the primary goal — while EMSculpt Neo can reduce fat, the Core to Floor programme is primarily about muscle strengthening. We may recommend CoolSculpting or an alternative for fat reduction.
  • If only one component (core or pelvic floor) is needed — we may recommend EMSculpt Neo or EMSella individually rather than the combined programme.
  • If there are medical contraindications affecting muscle or nerve function — suitability is assessed on a case-by-case basis during consultation.
  • If expectations are not aligned with what non-invasive muscle stimulation can realistically achieve — we will set honest expectations during your assessment.

What Happens During Treatment

  1. 1Clinical consultation and suitability assessment, including your concerns, medical history and fitness goals
  2. 2Discussion of expected outcomes, realistic timelines, limitations and alternatives
  3. 3EMSculpt Neo sessions: you sit or lie comfortably while the applicator delivers HIFEM and RF energy to the core muscles
  4. 4EMSella sessions: you sit fully clothed on the EMSella chair while focused electromagnetic energy stimulates pelvic floor contractions
  5. 5Each session is approximately 30 minutes per treatment; your programme schedule is planned during consultation

The number of sessions is tailored to your goals and assessment. A typical programme involves a series of sessions for both EMSculpt Neo and EMSella, planned during your consultation.
The EMSella component of the programme is designed to strengthen pelvic floor muscles, which can help with mild to moderate stress urinary incontinence. Results vary by individual and are discussed during consultation.
No. Both treatments are non-invasive with no downtime. You can return to normal activities immediately after each session. Some patients experience mild muscle soreness similar to after a workout.
The programme is not suitable for patients with implanted electronic devices (such as pacemakers), metal implants in the treatment area, or during pregnancy. Suitability is fully assessed during consultation.
