Why we start with a consultation
Every treatment begins with a medical assessment. We need to understand your medical history, current health, skin condition and concerns before prescribing any procedure. This protects your safety and ensures the treatment is clinically appropriate for you.
During your consultation, Dr Langdon will explain what the treatment can realistically achieve, any risks specific to you, and whether an alternative might be more appropriate.
All bookings are subject to our Booking Conditions.

Clinical overview
HydraFacial is a device-assisted facial treatment that combines gentle chemical exfoliation, vacuum extraction and serum infusion in a single session. The system uses a patented Vortex-Fusion delivery to cleanse, extract and hydrate the skin simultaneously. In clinic, we find HydraFacial particularly effective for patients with clogged pores, blackheads, dull or uneven texture, and those wanting an immediate improvement in skin clarity and hydration without downtime. The treatment can be tailored with add-on boosters (such as Dermabuilder for fine lines or Britenol for pigmentation) and combined with LED therapy or lymphatic drainage when indicated. For patients requiring deeper resurfacing — significant scarring, advanced sun damage or marked texture irregularity — we would typically discuss chemical peels or laser options that offer greater tissue remodelling, albeit with more downtime.
Key Benefits
- Immediate improvement in skin clarity, glow and hydration after a single session
- Deep cleansing and comfortable vacuum extraction of congested pores and blackheads
- Personalised booster serums tailored to your skin concerns during treatment
- Suitable for most skin types including sensitive and acne-prone skin
- No downtime — you can return to normal activities immediately
- Can be combined with LED, lymphatic drainage or other treatments as part of a broader plan
Suitable For
- Clogged pores, blackheads or congested skin where deep cleansing is needed
- Dull, tired-looking skin needing an immediate refresh and glow
- Uneven texture or rough skin surface
- Patients wanting a maintenance facial with no downtime
- Sensitive or acne-prone skin (protocols are adjusted accordingly)
- Pre-event skin preparation when you want to look your clearest
Not Suitable For
- Active skin infection, open wounds or lesions in the treatment area (treatment should be delayed)
- Recent ablative laser or deep chemical peel (we advise waiting until the skin has fully recovered)
- Significant scarring or advanced sun damage where deeper resurfacing treatments are more appropriate
- Anyone expecting HydraFacial alone to address volume loss, structural laxity or deep wrinkles
- Pregnancy — protocols are adjusted and certain boosters are avoided; suitability confirmed at consultation
Final suitability is confirmed during a medical consultation and assessment.
When we don't recommend it
- If you need deeper resurfacing for scarring or advanced sun damage — chemical peels or CO2 laser offer greater tissue remodelling and are usually more appropriate.
- If active infection or open lesions are present — we delay treatment until the skin is settled and safe to treat.
- If your primary concern is facial volume loss or structural laxity — HydraFacial improves skin surface quality but does not address deeper tissue changes.
- If you have had a recent ablative procedure — we wait for full recovery before performing extraction or exfoliation.
- If expectations centre on dramatic transformation from a single session — HydraFacial delivers noticeable clarity and glow, but progressive improvement comes from a maintenance schedule.
What Happens During Treatment
- 1Your clinician assesses your skin, reviews your concerns and selects appropriate booster serums.
- 2Cleanse and exfoliate: the HydraFacial tip gently resurfaces, lifting dull surface cells for a smoother base.
- 3Gentle peel: light acids loosen debris and congestion without causing downtime.
- 4Vacuum extraction: the Vortex suction comfortably clears clogged pores and blackheads.
- 5Fuse and protect: antioxidants, peptides and hydrating serums are infused into the skin for an immediate glow.
- 6Optional add-ons (LED, lymphatic drainage, specialist boosters) are applied if indicated.
- 7Aftercare guidance is provided, including SPF and skincare recommendations.
Downtime & Aftercare
- Typically no downtime — most patients return to normal activities immediately.
- Mild pinkness may occur and usually settles within a few hours.
- Apply SPF 30+ daily and avoid harsh exfoliants for 48 hours post-treatment.
- Avoid saunas, steam rooms and intense exercise for 24 hours.
- Follow any personalised skincare recommendations provided by your clinician.
Results Timeline
- Most patients see an immediate improvement in skin clarity, hydration and glow after their first session.
- For ongoing improvement in texture, congestion and overall skin quality, a monthly maintenance schedule is typically recommended.
- Corrective courses (e.g., for persistent congestion or rough texture) may involve treatments spaced 2–4 weeks apart initially.
